The Tourism Authority of Thailand picked Krabi as one of three locations across Thailand to host a Love and Jazz Music Festival in order to promote tourism in the country. The move also pumped much needed funds into Thailand’s performing arts community. The performances were scheduled over three evenings from 5pm to 11pm from February 28 to March 2. A mix of contemporary jazz and romantic love songs dominated the event. Six performances were schedule each evening by well known Thai musicians and singers. Street art, local OTOP crafts, and exotic foods accented the music venue. Krabi Municipality provided the riverside space next to the Pooh Dam sculpture on what turned out to be perfect evenings under the stars. The event pulled several thousand people to the streets.
