Devilishly Good!

The Red Devil Grill and Lounge is something of a chameleon in the Krabi culinary scene. Just when you think you have it sussed, it throws you a curveball and takes you by surprise - in the most delicious way possible. The man behind the concept of five-star dining at affordable prices is Chef Umberto Barbieri - something of a legend in this part of the world when it comes to the culinary arts. A lifelong chef, he has worked in some of the most prestigious kitchens in the world under the tutelage of culinary masters. French classical training fused with home-style Italian soon molded Umberto into a uniquely talented chef with an ambition.

His love for fine dining is matched only by his desire to make them accessible to many, instead of the affluent elite as has always been the tradition. After settling in Ao Nang, he opened up his first hugely successful ocean-view resaurant, “Lo Spuntino” that soon became one of the most talked about places in the region. With this success came the concept for a new, exciting and thoroughly unique dining experience never before seen in Krabi. Hard work and dedication saw the rebirth of Chef Umberto’s talent when “Red Devil Restaurant & Grill” opened it’s doors to the public in 2012. With the combination of class and comfort rarely seen in the area, Umberto’s menu only added to the experience of an evening at Red Devil.

This year, he raises the bar once again with a brand-new menu featuring some stunning culinary creations worthy of any 5-star resort. Alongside his legendary pizzas, imported grill selections and gourmet panini sandwiches. you will also find items like home-made beef bourguignonne with truffle oil-infused tagliatelle. As the weather heats up, some of the most popular items on Chef Umberto’s menu are the antipasto. These family-sized wooden platters come laden with all manner of chilled Italian delicacies that are perfect for a lazy lunch with family and friends.

As well as the traditional favourites of olives and sun dried tomatoes, you will find home-made terrine, pâté and breads, as well as a selection of imported cheeses and cold-cuts to rival any trattoria in Italy. Buffalo mozzarella and extra-virgin olive oil highlight the level of detail that Chef Umberto insists on here for his customers - and the difference is notable.

Complimented with a chilled Italian wine, imported Belgian beer or a freshly prepared fruit shake - this “al fresco” Mediterranean luncheon is the perfect way to spend a couple of hours in the heat of Krabi. The upstairs of Red Devil is also open for business as the newly refurbished “Red Up” offers private dining rooms for parties and couples alike. An outside balcony scattered with oversized cushions and low tables offers a wonderful place for an after-dinner “digestivo” drink as you watch the sun dip below the horizon. With something for everyone, the Red Devil Restaurant and Grill is a jewel in the crown of the Krabi dining scene, and demands to be experienced. Content Content Content
