Koh Jum is a small island between Krabi Town and Koh lanta

It is peaceful and relatively uninhabited, a resident few call this island home making for a great place to get away from the mainstream lifestyle. Koh Jum is as the locals say the same as Koh Phi Phi was 30 years ago. A few small resorts and bungalows punctuate the island making for amazing beaches with few to no people. Most transportation around the island is done on motorbikes with the occasional motorbike sidecar, most of the roads are simple and dirt, little asphalt marks the island.

The island has been slowly gaining in popularity for a number of years, now a few high end resorts offer accommodation and a resident dive center Koh Jum divers calls this island home. There is a range of accommodation to choose from, simple yet safe accommodation right up to high end private villas.

Transportation to the islands is mostly done by the main ferries leaving from Koh Lanta Saladan pier and Krabi’s laem Kruat pier in Nuea Klong, the tickets vary but are typically around 300-400THB/person. Something to keep in mind is that these ferries will not come up to a pier on the island rather they will stop slightly offshore and be met by local long tail drivers, it is wise to book your long tail prior to your arrival but if you didn’t don’t worry there is always an extra seat for you to catch a ride to shore.
