Hot Springs

Underground natural springs flourish throughout Krabi province. The Emerald Pool (known as Sa Morakot in Thai) is one such marvel of this abundant system; a crystal clear natural pool with an astonishing green hue, as its name denotes. With mild temperatures the pure spring water is pleasantly cool to escape the heat with a swim. Entrance fee is 200 baht per person.
A 15-minute drive away the Emerald Pool, the nearby Hot Springs (known as Nam Tok Rom in Thai) is also a worthwhile visit. Underground sources fill natural rock pools with water around temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius, cascading into a small river. The water is naturally heated by volcanic chambers, and purported to be laden with therapeutic minerals. Entrance fee is 90 baht per person.
Both the Emerald Pool and Hot Spring are located 60 km from Krabi Town and can be seen independently or by organized tour. Although open daily from 8:30 AM to 6:30PM, visitors are recommended to go to either in the early morning or late afternoon.
